## 1. Choose this provider when

Verify one email address.

## 2. Minimal request

Call `POST https://api.firecrawl.dev/v2/scrape` with `{ alexandria: { provider, capability, options } }`. For a batch, send `{ alexandria: [...] }` with up to 10 calls.

```json
{
  "provider": "scrubby",
  "capability": "people/email-verify",
  "options": {
    "email": "<email>"
  }
}
```

## 3. Add provider options

Use only the options needed for the task:

- `email` (string, required): Email address to verify. Sent as JSON { email }. Example: `<email>`

## 4. Request through your preferred interface

### JavaScript

```javascript
const result = await firecrawl.scrape({
  alexandria: {
    provider: "scrubby",
    capability: "people/email-verify",
    options: {
      email: "<email>",
    },
  },
});
```

### Python

```python
result = firecrawl.scrape_alexandria({
  "provider": "scrubby",
  "capability": "people/email-verify",
  "options": {
    "email": "<email>"
  }
})
```

### cURL

```sh
curl https://api.firecrawl.dev/v2/scrape \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FIRECRAWL_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
  "alexandria": {
    "provider": "scrubby",
    "capability": "people/email-verify",
    "options": {
      "email": "<email>"
    }
  }
}'
```

### CLI

```sh
firecrawl scrape 'scrubby/people/email-verify' \
  --options '{"email":"<email>"}'
```

### MCP

Call the FCX MCP retrieve tool with this object:

```json
{
  "provider": "scrubby",
  "capability": "people/email-verify",
  "options": {
    "email": "<email>"
  }
}
```

Ask for only the returned fields needed by the task.

## 5. Full request shape

```json
{
  "provider": "scrubby",
  "capability": "people/email-verify",
  "options": {
    "email": "<email>"
  }
}
```

## 6. Response data

The response includes `success`, `provider`, `capability`, `creditsCost` and `data`. This example shows the provider payload in `data`:

```json
{
  "email": "<email>",
  "result": "<result>",
  "status": "<status>",
  "quick_status": "<quick_status>",
  "credits_used": 0,
  "remaining_credits": 0,
  "retry_after_seconds": 0
}
```

## API reference-derived contract

The following capability contract is generated from the same normalized Alexandria API reference exposed in the API spec.

### Email verifier

- Capability: `people/email-verify`
- Description: One verification. result is Valid, Invalid, Risky, or Unknown. status is a detailed code such as OK or HARD_BOUNCE. quick_status is OK, HARD_BOUNCE, SOFT_BOUNCE, or UNKNOWN. credits_used is the vendor charge for this call and is 0 on a free repeat. remaining_credits is the deployment account's balance, not the caller's Firecrawl balance. retry_after_seconds is 0 when the result is final.
- Instructions: Check one email address. result is Valid, Invalid, Risky, Unknown. 10 Firecrawl credits when Scrubby charges its 1-credit quick check, including Invalid, Risky, and Unknown. credits_used 0, including a free repeat of the same address within 24 hours, costs nothing. A timeout fails the call. Use this when the address is already known.
- Cost: 10 credits per Scrubby credit
- Capability file: [Email verifier](https://alexandria.firecrawl.dev/agents/providers/scrubby/people/email-verify)

Accepted options:
- `email` (string, required): Email address to verify. Sent as JSON { email }. Example: `<email>`

Response schema example:
```json
{
  "email": "<email>",
  "result": "<result>",
  "status": "<status>",
  "quick_status": "<quick_status>",
  "credits_used": 0,
  "remaining_credits": 0,
  "retry_after_seconds": 0
}
```
