Farm and ranch listing land profile

Use when a farm and ranch real estate broker is preparing a listing and wants to describe the land with evidence. Reads the parcel from the county's ArcGIS layer, vegetation and moisture from Sentinel-2 scenes, multi-year rainfall and temperature from NASA POWER, root-zone soil moisture and wildfire risk. Produces a land profile buyers and lenders can check.

# Farm and ranch listing land profile

For the parcel id or the field boundary as GeoJSON, and the county.

## 1. The parcel

1. Find the county parcel layer with @[ArcGIS · Search datasets](alexandria:arcgis-com/gis-layers/search_datasets) and read the parcel with @[ArcGIS · Query layer](alexandria:arcgis-com/gis-layers/query_layer) (`where` on the parcel id, `return_geometry` true). Carry acreage, owner of record field and the geometry.

## 2. How the land grows

2. Read @[Earth Search · Vegetation indices](alexandria:earth-search-aws-element84-com/satellite-imagery/vegetation_indices) for the geometry across the last two growing seasons. Keep the NDVI peak and its date, and which zones stay weaker.

## 3. Water and weather

3. Read @[NASA POWER · Monthly history](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/monthly_history) for ten years: rainfall and temperature by month.
4. Read @[NASA POWER · Soil moisture](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/soil_moisture) for the last growing season.

## 4. Risk

5. Read @[Wildfire Risk to Communities · Wildfire risk for geometry](alexandria:wildfirerisk-org/wildfire-risk/wildfire_risk_for_geometry) for the parcel.

## Write the land profile

- **Parcel:** acreage and parcel facts as the county records them.
- **Productivity:** seasonal NDVI peaks and weaker zones, stated as observations rather than yields.
- **Climate:** average rainfall by season, recent dry or wet years, soil moisture last season.
- **Risk:** wildfire class.
- **Sources:** cite each figure to its capability and dates. Water rights and soil survey classes are not covered; say what could not be found.
