# Farmland parcel appraisal fact pack

For one parcel. The parcel polygon carries into every call.

## 1. Location

1. Reverse geocode the centroid with @[OpenStreetMap · Reverse geocode](alexandria:openstreetmap-org/places/reverse_geocode) for county and nearest town.

## 2. Climate

2. Read @[NASA POWER · Climate normals](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/climate_normals) for annual and monthly rainfall and temperature.
3. Read @[ACIS · Monthly climate history](alexandria:rcc-acis-org/weather-history/monthly_climate_history) for the last five years to show recent wet and dry seasons.

## 3. Productivity history

4. Read @[Earth Search · Vegetation indices](alexandria:earth-search-aws-element84-com/satellite-imagery/vegetation_indices) at mid-season for each of the last three to five years. Consistent zones that lag point to drainage or soil issues.

## 4. Hazards

5. Read @[Wildfire Risk to Communities · Wildfire risk for geometry](alexandria:wildfirerisk-org/wildfire-risk/wildfire_risk_for_geometry) for the parcel.
6. Read @[National Weather Service · Alerts history](alexandria:api-weather-gov/weather/alerts_history) for the parcel over the last month for flood alerts.

- **Climate:** normals and recent seasons.
- **Productivity:** NDVI by year and weak zones.
- **Hazards:** wildfire class and recent flood alerts.
- **Unknowns:** soil survey, water rights and sales comparables are not in these sources.
- **Sources:** cite every figure to the capability and record it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
