Irrigation district water demand outlook
Use when an irrigation district manager is planning deliveries for the next two weeks. Reads recent evapotranspiration, rainfall and temperature across the district, compares them with normals, and reads the forecast, then estimates whether demand will rise and which canals or laterals to prepare for.

# Irrigation district water demand outlook For one district split into two to four zones. Zone polygons carry into every call. ## 1. Recent crop water use 1. Find the evapotranspiration parameter code with @[NASA POWER · List parameters](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/list_parameters) (query evapotranspiration). 2. Read @[NASA POWER · Daily weather](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/daily_weather) for each zone over the last 21 days with that parameter, T2M_MAX and PRECTOTCORR. ## 2. Against normal 3. Read @[NASA POWER · Climate normals](alexandria:power-larc-nasa-gov/weather-history/climate_normals) for the month. 4. Read @[ACIS · Daily weather history](alexandria:rcc-acis-org/weather-history/daily_weather_history) for each zone over the same 21 days for station-based rainfall and the longest dry spell. ## 3. Next two weeks 5. Read @[National Weather Service · Forecast daily](alexandria:api-weather-gov/weather/forecast_daily) for each zone. Note hot, dry and windy days that lift demand. ## Write the demand outlook - **By zone:** recent ET, rainfall, dry spell, forecast heat. - **Demand call:** rising, steady or falling, with the reason. - **Operations:** zones to prioritise and when to raise flows. - **Unknowns:** reservoir levels and allocations are not in these sources. - **Sources:** cite every figure to the capability and record it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
