Competitor displacement triggers

Use when a sales rep or founder wants accounts that are hiring people to run a competitor's product. Finds job posts that name the competitor, reads why users complain about it, and finds the hiring manager, producing a trigger list with a pain-point talk track for each account.

# Competitor displacement triggers

For one competitor product you replace. Company slugs from step 1 and review themes from step 4 carry into the final list.

## 1. Who is hiring for it

1. Search posts naming the product with @[Built In · Search](alexandria:builtin-com/jobs/search) (query the product name). Keep job URLs and company slugs.
2. Read each post with @[Built In · Job](alexandria:builtin-com/jobs/job): title, posting date, and how the product is mentioned (migrating to, maintaining, replacing).
3. Resolve each company slug with @[Built In · Company](alexandria:builtin-com/jobs/company): website domain, headcount and industry.

## 2. Why they might switch

4. Find the product on @[PeerSpot · Search](alexandria:peerspot-com/software-reviews/search), then read low-rated reviews with @[PeerSpot · Reviews](alexandria:peerspot-com/software-reviews/reviews). Group complaints into three themes, with reviewer role and company size.

## 3. Who owns the decision

5. For each domain, find the manager of the hiring team with @[Apollo · Person search](alexandria:apollo/people/search) (q_organization_domains_list, person_titles such as Head of Data or VP Engineering).

## Write the trigger list

- **Accounts:** company, role posted, date, how the product is used and the likely owner.
- **Talk track:** the review theme most relevant to each post, in one sentence.
- **Priority:** fresh posts that mention migrating or evaluating first.
- **Sources:** cite every figure to the capability and record it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
