Win-back offer benchmark

Use when a lifecycle or CRM marketer is designing a win-back or cancellation-save offer for a subscription product and wants to know what rivals already offer lapsed users. Reads competitors' live reactivation ads on Meta, the trial and discount ladders in their App Store subscriptions, and why users say they left, then writes an offer benchmark.

# Win-back offer benchmark

For one subscription product and three to five competitors (their domains and app names). Win-back offers are rarely published; they surface in retargeting ads, intro offers and churn reviews.

## 1. Rival reactivation ads

1. Resolve each competitor with @[Upspring · Advertiser by domain](alexandria:upspring/advertisers/by-domain) (`domain`). Keep the **advertiser id** and the vertical it is filed under.
2. Read the funnel ids for that vertical with @[Upspring · Vertical vocabulary](alexandria:upspring/taxonomy/vertical) (`vertical`) and pick the bottom-of-funnel and returning-customer ones.
3. List live ads with @[Upspring · Browse ads](alexandria:upspring/ads/browse) (`advertiser_id`, `is_active=true`, `funnel` = those ids, `order_by=best`), then open the strongest five with @[Upspring · Ad detail](alexandria:upspring/ads/detail) (`id`). Record the **offer** (discount, free months, trial extension, bonus content) and what the landing page asks for.

## 2. Offer ladders inside the app

4. Find each competitor's app with @[App Store · Search](alexandria:apps-apple-com/apps/search) (`term` = brand), then read @[App Store · App](alexandria:apps-apple-com/apps/app) (`app_id`). From `in_app_purchases`, list every subscription price, period and `intro_offers` entry. Several prices for one period usually means price tests or save offers.
5. Page through @[App Store · Reviews](alexandria:apps-apple-com/apps/reviews) (`app_id`, `offset`), paging with the returned next offset, and keep reviews that mention cancelling, price, coming back or a deal. These carry the reasons people leave and what pulled them back.

## Write the benchmark

- **Offer table:** competitor, ad offer, intro offers, cheapest monthly and annual price, ad or app id behind each.
- **Why people leave:** the top three reasons, each quoted from a review.
- **Recommendation:** one win-back offer that beats the market without undercutting your own annual price, and the message to lead with.
- **Sources:** cite each offer to its ad id or app id. Upspring covers Meta ads only and the App Store shows public price points only; say what could not be found rather than guessing.
