Streaming library licensing gap finder

Use when a streaming service's content acquisition or programming team wants well-loved titles that no subscription service carries in their market. Browses a rival's catalogue and genre charts, checks every title's offers across countries, keeps the ones sitting only on rent or buy, then ranks them by audience rating and search interest.

# Streaming library licensing gap finder

For one country and one or two genres. Title ids from step 1 carry through every later step.

## 1. Build the candidate pool

1. Get provider short names with @[JustWatch · Providers](alexandria:justwatch-com/streaming-availability/providers) (country, has_titles true).
2. Pull popular titles in the genre with @[JustWatch · Browse titles](alexandria:justwatch-com/streaming-availability/browse_titles) (sort POPULAR, genres, release_year_min a decade back), once with no provider filter and once filtered to your main rival. Keep 50 to 100 title ids.

## 2. Who has them

3. Read @[JustWatch · Title offers](alexandria:justwatch-com/streaming-availability/title_offers) for each title across your market and two neighbours (countries list). Keep titles with no FLATRATE offer in your market, only RENT or BUY. Note where they do stream elsewhere; that service likely holds regional rights.

## 3. Are they worth it

4. Resolve each title to its Letterboxd slug with @[Letterboxd · Film](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/film) (tmdb_id from the JustWatch record), then read all scores in one call with @[Letterboxd · Ratings bulk](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/ratings_bulk).
5. For the top 15, read cast, runtime and studio with @[TMDB · Get title](alexandria:themoviedb-org/films/get_title); the studio tells you who to call.
6. Compare search interest for the top 10 with @[Trends · Interest over time](alexandria:firecrawl-trends/trends/interest_over_time) (geo your country, 12 months, five at a time).

## Write the gap list

- **Shortlist:** title, year, Letterboxd average, rent/buy only in your market, where it streams elsewhere, studio.
- **Demand:** relative search interest.
- **Priorities:** the ten to license first and why.
- **Sources:** cite every figure to the capability and record it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
