Winning funnel teardown

Use when a marketer asks how a competitor's paid social actually converts, or wants to copy a funnel that works. # Winning funnel teardown

For one competitor domain. Ad creative says what is promised; traffic data says whether the promise lands. Each step feeds the next.

## 1. Find the ads that win

1. Resolve the domain with @[Upspring · Advertiser by domain](alexandria:upspring/advertisers/by-domain): keep the **advertiser id**, size grades, creative fingerprint (personas, hooks, funnel) and top ads.
2. List what runs now with @[Upspring · Browse ads](alexandria:upspring/ads/browse): pass that advertiser id, `is_active=true`, `order_by=best`, `min_impressions=4`. Keep the ten strongest **ad ids**.
3. Open each finalist with @[Upspring · Ad detail](alexandria:upspring/ads/detail) (`include=full`): note the hook, offer, **landing page URL** and whether the page delivers what the ad promises.

## 2. Follow the click

4. Read the domain's last complete month with @[Similarweb · Marketing channel shares](alexandria:similarweb/channels/share): share of paid social, paid search, direct and organic. A high paid-social share confirms Meta is a real engine, not a test.
5. Pull the same month's referrers with @[Similarweb · Incoming referral domains](alexandria:similarweb/web/incoming-referrals): look for quiz, review or affiliate domains that sit between the ad and the store.
6. Read @[Similarweb · Traffic and engagement](alexandria:similarweb/web/traffic) for that month with `metrics=visits,bounce_rate,pages_per_visit,average_visit_duration`, and again for each distinct landing-page domain from step 3 if it differs.

## 3. Set the bar

7. Run @[Upspring · Creative breakdown](alexandria:upspring/ads/breakdown) on the advertiser's vertical with `group_by=hook_archetype`, once plain and once with `min_impressions=4`, to see which hooks over-index among winners in the category.

## Write the teardown

- **Funnel map:** ad hook to offer to landing page to referrer to site, one row per winning ad.
- **Why it works:** the two or three patterns that both over-index in the vertical and show up in the competitor's winners.
- **Tests to run:** five hook, offer or page tests, most promising first.
- **Sources:** cite each figure to the capability and month it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
