Festival film acquisition screen

Use when, during or after a film festival, an acquisitions executive, sales agent or small distributor wants titles worth bidding on in their territory. Reads early audience ratings and reviews, checks whether a release or distributor is already set in the territory and whether any service streams it, and ranks festival films that are loved and still available.

# Festival film acquisition screen

For a list of festival titles (or a Letterboxd festival list URL) and one territory. Letterboxd slugs from step 1 carry through.

## 1. The slate

1. If you have a list URL, read it with @[Letterboxd · List entries](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/list_entries); otherwise resolve each title with @[Letterboxd · Search films](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/search_films).
2. Read early scores and counts in one call with @[Letterboxd · Ratings bulk](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/ratings_bulk). Keep films above the slate median with a meaningful rating count.

## 2. What viewers say

3. Read the popular and newest reviews for the top 10 with @[Letterboxd · Reviews](alexandria:letterboxd-com/films/reviews) (full_text true). Note genre, tone and any walkout or divisive signals.

## 3. Is it still available

4. Resolve each with @[TMDB · Search](alexandria:themoviedb-org/films/search) and read @[TMDB · Get release dates](alexandria:themoviedb-org/films/get_release_dates) for your territory. A dated theatrical or digital release usually means a distributor is set.
5. Read @[JustWatch · Title offers](alexandria:justwatch-com/streaming-availability/title_offers) for the territory to confirm no service lists it.
6. Read @[TMDB · Get credits](alexandria:themoviedb-org/films/get_credits) for director and cast with prior work you could market on.

## Write the screen

- **Ranked slate:** title, Letterboxd average and count, review tone, release status in territory, streaming status, marketable names.
- **Bid list:** films with no territory release and strong scores.
- **Pass list:** with the reason (already sold, divisive, niche).
- **Sources:** cite every figure to the capability and record it came from. Say what could not be found rather than guessing.
